Broken Truth by Beth Ashworth BLOG TOUR STOP + GIVEAWAY

Title: Broken Truth
Author: Beth Ashworth
Genre: Contemporary Adult Romance
Publication Date: November 15th, 2013

Life for Charlotte (Charlie) Harris couldn’t be any better at this moment in time. She has her dream job, she has the extremely wealthy knight in shining armour and she has the best friends a girl could ever ask for. On paper, the beautiful world unfolding at her feet almost appears too good to be true for a working class girl from Manchester right?

But what happens when you gloss over the statistics and realise that the happy bubble you have been living in for the past fifteen months has all been a twisted, torturous path of lies? What if you realised that the person you loved wasn’t who they claimed to be any longer?

With the once sacred and happy memories now turned into hatred and despair, Charlie must now follow her instincts to either forget her past and move on or force the hand that holds the cards to her life to reshuffle the deck before it leads onto the twisted future that lies in store.

What will she choose?

Can she forgive and forget for the only man her heart has ever loved?

MY VIEWS:
This book is one of my favorites from this year, it's hard to believe that Broken Truth is Beth Ashworths DEBUT novel! It is written brilliantly and flows consistently throughout.

I loved Charlie as a main character, she is feisty, fun and the sort of girl you want as your friend and although Callum drove me crazy a few times through the story, he still managed to steal my heart. I was rooting for him all the way to the end.

There is a MASSIVE twist in this book and I could kind of see it coming but was hoping it wouldn't. When it did I was as devastated as Charlie, that's how drawn into this book I was! I sat and read it in one sitting as I NEEDED to know how it all turned out (I sooo badly wanted to read the last page half way through but I was good!)

Overall I ADORED this book and give it 5 BIG BOOK LOVE STARS. I can wait to read more from this author.

The apartment’s intercom system buzzed noisily, jolting Charlie from her thoughts. Jumping up from her position at the breakfast bar, she hurried towards the intercom phone on the opposite side of the kitchen.
“Hi John, is he here?” she practically squealed, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet.
“Yes, Miss Harris. His electronic fob has just been used on the underground garage. He should be with you shortly,” he replied.
“Thanks John,” Charlie said as she disconnected the call and placed the phone back on to the wall receiver.
Knowing Callum was mere minutes away, she moved swiftly through the apartment to wait by the private penthouse lift. Fidgeting nervously with her hands, she watched as the numbers on the panel steadily increased through the floors of the building. Growing more and more impatient, she eventually heard the heart stopping ding of the doors opening and Callum’s smooth and sensual voice as it echoed across the marbled foyer.
“Damn, Baby,” he growled, running an appreciative eye over her body as he entered the foyer. “You look absolutely gorgeous.”
With a little squeal of excitement, Charlie found herself rushing straight into Callum’s open and waiting arms. His firm and strong grasp held her body tightly against his as his mouth dipped low to claim her lips in a ferocious and practically starved kiss.
She felt his hands slowly drift down the length of her back to cup her bottom, before he squeezed tightly to encourage her to wrap her legs around his waist. She complied silently, raising one leg to his hip so that Callum could lift her effortlessly against him.
Sliding her hands to lock around the nape of his neck for support, Charlie gasped at the feel of his erection straining against the material of his trousers.

Beth Ashworth was born in Manchester in 1990, but shortly moved to the modest city of Coventry where she was raised and still resides now.

As a vivid reader from a very early age, Beth has always been keen to put her words onto paper. As a child she was always found with either a book in her hand, a pen and notepad or a computer games controller.

Starting off by initially writing alternate endings to her favourite Jacqueline Wilson books from around the age of ten, Beth has continued to grow and love her passion for books.

Eventually, after many unfinished books and short stories, she finally decided to follow her passion and write books that she hopes people will love.

When she isn't reading or writing, Beth loves to spend time with her husband and friends

Author Q&A:

1-    What was your biggest inspiration when writing Broken Truth?
It was something that came to me one morning. I can’t really explain how it happened and what pushed me to continue writing, but I just did. I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing bits here and there, so when Callum and Charlie appeared, it felt right!
2-    Who is your dream cast for Broken Truth?
Callum – I would totally pick Orlando Bloom.
Charlie – Emily Blunt would be perfect.
Some candidates for Amelia and Lucy would probably be: Emillia Clarke, Jenna Coleman, Michelle Keegan or Leighton Meester.
3-    If you could pick a theme song for Broken Truth what would it be?
Brave by Sara Bareilles. Listening to this song just reminds me of the way Charlie managed to keep her head above water. She didn’t let things get her down. Even when things turned nasty, she just had this bravery within her that kept going. And… I love this song :P
4-    Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Always. I never once imagined that I would sit down and finally finish a book. I couldn’t even tell you how many I’ve started and stopped since I was teenager.
5-    Who is your favorite Character in your book and Why?
I love Xavier! I wanted to make sure that Charlie had good friends around her like Amelia and Lucy, but I also wanted her to have the crazy friend that is more relaxed and carefree.
I have a lot of characters around me who are very similar to Xavier, so it was a lot of fun to write. I just observed and then put it into words with some funny dialogue.
6-    What are you reading right now?
Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas (But tomorrow will be Prof. Emmerson when he lands on my Kindle! Eeeeep!)
7-    Which author inspires you the most?
I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. I have such a huge list of authors who inspire me monthly, weekly and even daily. I read such a variety of books that I have picked up a lot of favs. Abbi Glines, Aleatha Romig, Jodi Ellen Malpas… the list is endless!
8-    Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I’m a complete sugar addict, and especially with American chocolate and candy. I import that stuff into the UK like there is no tomorrow. Twinkies and Swedish Fish are my favourites!
9-    When you write what sort of environment do you like to be in, Music or not etc?
If I am writing a really important scene then I prefer silence. But, I am usually in a music mood most of the time. I love listening to everything while the creative juices are flowing. I am an obsessive Justin Timberlake fan, so he is usually blasting through my headphones.
10-          What is the first book you ever read?
The Story of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson was possibly the first ‘full’ novel that I read. I loved her and I still do! I was introduced to her books when I was around ten, and I haven’t been able to put them down since even though I’m now twenty three!! I’ve probably read every book she has ever written at least five times. I’m kind of sad like that… J
